This event has become a most beloved one among the library staff, faculty, and students. We enjoy seeing the amazement on people’s faces as they travel around the exhibits and see just how amazing our faculty and students are. We look forward to the 4th annual Expo in 2018! Stay tuned for details.
Have you ever found yourself with one too many books?!
Members of the Reynolds Library Staff and the Student Senate partnered up to help you out because WE GET IT!
Beginning in the spring 2017 semester, you’re going to notice a book cart outside each campus library with a sign that looks like this attached to it:
Don’t over think it – these carts make it easy for you to not only donate books that you’ve loved (or perhaps not loved), but also to take a book that might interest you! Don’t have a book to donate but see one you’d love to read?! No problem. No one’s judging you – just go for it!
This is our way of contributing to the Little Free Library movement going on around the county!
**Please don’t return library materials on the carts!**
According to study published in 2008 in the International Journal of Neuroscience, “participants exposed to peppermint oil experienced enhanced memory and processing speeds…[and peppermint] also increased their alertness while helping them maintain a sense of calm.”
We figured if it was published in the Journal of Neuroscience then it must be true. So, beginning Monday, December 12th through Saturday, December 17th (or until we run out of peppermints and pencils!), the Reynolds Libraries will be hosting our popular Peppermints and Pencils event. Come in anytime during our extended hours to pick up a snazzy Reynolds pencil and some peppermints to help you study for your exams.
The Reynolds Library Staff wishes you the best of luck through these last two weeks of the semester and please remember we are always here to help!
This year at the Reynolds Library Open House, 184 students, faculty, and staff participated in a blind taste test of three of Richmond’s favorite donut shoppes. They sampled donuts from Country Style, Sugar Shack, and Duck Donuts and voted on their favorite based on what color container the donut sample was in.
Drum roll, please.
And the winner was….
If you haven’t already figured it out, Richmond’s own Country Style Donuts was the color blue. Congratulations, Country Style!
Second place went to GREEN, or Duck Donuts, and third place was PINK, Sugar Shack. Here is a breakdown of the votes:
Thank you to everyone who came out and participated. We hope you had as much fun testing donuts as we did!
